Police are intensifying their search for a red Alpha Romeo car believed to be linked to a series of break-ins that occurred across four homes in West Lothian in a single day.
The incidents took place on Thursday, 3 October 2024. The first burglary was reported at a property on Barn Place in Livingston between 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm, where jewellery was stolen. Subsequently, a second break-in occurred at a property on Anderson Green, also in Livingston, between 3.30 pm and 5.25 pm, resulting in the theft of both jewellery and cash. Another property on Blinkbonny Gardens in Breich was targeted between 4.30 pm and 6.35 pm, with cash and jewellery reported missing. Additionally, a break-in at Redlands Court, East Whitburn, happened between 5 pm and 6.50 pm, although nothing was taken.
Law enforcement officials are treating these incidents as interconnected and are actively investigating to determine the full circumstances. Detectives have noted sightings of a red Alpha Romeo vehicle around the locations of the break-ins during the respective times. Detective Sergeant Keith Sinclair stated, “There have been a number of break-ins in the West Lothian area recently and our investigation is focusing on these potentially being linked.” He urged anyone with relevant information or who witnessed suspicious activities in the area to come forward. Particularly, individuals with CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage of the red Alpha Romeo car are encouraged to contact the authorities.
