In a statement released on behalf of the Combs family by her attorney Natlie G Figgers, Small Combs expressed her devastation over the allegations against her son. She emphasized that Sean Combs is not the ‘monster’ portrayed by the media and deserves the opportunity to prove his innocence in court. Small Combs acknowledged that Combs has made mistakes in the past, referencing a previous incident involving his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
In 2016, surveillance footage surfaced showing Combs physically assaulting Ventura. Small Combs suggested that the decision to settle the lawsuit filed by Ventura rather than contesting it further was misinterpreted by the federal government as an admission of guilt, leading to further legal challenges and accusations against Combs. Ventura alleged that she was trafficked, raped, and abused by Combs during their decade-long relationship.
Small Combs denounced the subsequent flood of lawsuits against her son as motivated by financial gain rather than a quest for justice, asserting that false allegations hinder genuine victims from receiving the justice they deserve. She implored the public not to rush to judgment and urged them to afford Combs the opportunity to share his side of the story in court. Combs is set to return to court on October 9 to face the ongoing legal proceedings.
Small Combs concluded her statement by expressing hope that her son will have the chance to vindicate himself and share his truth.
