West Lothian Teen Raises Over £1000 for Two Charities
Olivia McCrae, a teenager from West Lothian, has made her family proud by bravely getting her long blonde hair cut to raise over £1000 for two charitable causes. The 13-year-old St Kent’s pupil decided to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment. Through generous donations, Olivia managed to raise £1100, which she split between the charity and a local organization called the Goth in Armadale.
Olivia, who has autism and ADHD, shared that her motivation behind the fundraiser was to help children feel good about themselves, as she understands how it feels to be different. Her mother, Jennifer, expressed her delight at Olivia’s initiative, highlighting how the funds raised will support both the Little Princess Trust and the Goth in Armadale with much-needed repairs to continue their community work.
The hair-cutting event took place at Talking Heads in Armadale, where Fiona Holburn, affectionately known as Auntie Fifi by Olivia, expertly transformed Olivia’s hair into a stylish bob. The special moment was live-streamed on Facebook, showcasing Olivia’s determination to make a positive impact on others’ lives. Olivia’s sister, Holly, referred to her as a superhero for her selfless act of kindness.
