The body of Jenny Hastings was discovered on September 7, which happened to be the couple’s wedding anniversary. Scott Hastings, aged 59, who met his wife during their school days, spoke out on World Mental Health Day, emphasising the importance of being attentive and supportive towards others. He shared that his wife had struggled with post-natal depression after the birth of their second child, along with battles with anorexia, bulimia, and body image issues. Despite her challenges, swimming often offered her solace.

Hastings recounted the day Jenny went missing, mentioning how he had returned home expecting to swim with her but found she was absent.
