Oasis have announced their support acts for their upcoming UK and Ireland tour, revealing that former The Verve frontman and solo artist Richard Ashcroft, along with indie rock band Cast, will be joining them on stage. The Manchester-formed rock band’s highly anticipated reunion tour will see them accompanied by these two acts at all of their scheduled UK and Ireland dates next year.
It has been confirmed by sources close to the band that Cast will kick off the performances, followed by Richard Ashcroft, before Oasis take the stage. This news comes after singer Liam Gallagher hinted at the line-up from his Twitter account, following the announcement of the North America and Australia legs of the Oasis ’25 tour. An official announcement is expected to be released next week.
Richard Ashcroft has a long history with the Gallagher brothers, having been supported by them when his band, known then simply as Verve, was on the rise in 1993. Noel Gallagher even wrote the track “Cast No Shadow” from Oasis’s second album as a tribute to Ashcroft. The song is placed between their hit singles “Some Might Say” and “She’s Electric”.
After leading The Verve to chart-topping success with their album ‘Urban Hymns’ in 1997, Noel Gallagher praised Ashcroft as a “genius” and expressed his admiration for the band’s achievements. Ashcroft has since enjoyed a successful solo career, releasing multiple top 10 albums.
Cast, on the other hand, emerged in Liverpool in 1992 and gained fame during the Britpop era of the mid-Nineties. After a brief split in 2001, the band regrouped and continued releasing music, with their most recent album ‘Love is the Call’ reaching No 22 on the UK charts earlier this year.
Fans of Oasis can look forward to experiencing a blend of iconic rock music as the band embarks on their UK and Ireland tour from 4 July 2025 to 28 September 2025, with all tickets already sold out. In North America, Oasis will be supported by US rock band Cage the Elephant, while the support act for their Australia shows is yet to be announced.
