Strictly Come Dancing Unveils Songs and Dances for Week Five
As the Strictly Come Dancing competition progresses, the excitement continues to build with the revelation of the songs and dances for the upcoming fifth week of the contest. With 12 couples remaining after the elimination of Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk on Sunday night, anticipation is high for the diverse range of performances set to take place in the absence of a specific theme for this week’s show.
Viewers can look forward to a mix of dances including a Samba by Paul Merson to Rose Royce’s “Car Wash” and a Rumba by Pete Wicks to Oasis’s “Don’t Look Back in Anger”. Additionally, there will be two Sambas, two Quicksteps, and a couple’s choice routine by Montell Douglas and her partner Johannes Radebe.
Last week’s standout performances included Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri and her partner Aljaž Škorjanec impressing the judges with their Charleston that earned them the top spot on the leaderboard with 39 points. Jamie Borthwick and Wynne Evans also shone, receiving a commendable 34 points each for their performances.
The full list of songs and dances for week five includes Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe dancing a Couple’s Choice to “Skeleton Move” by KG and Zanda Zakuza, Punam Krishan and Gorka Márquez performing a Viennese Waltz to “She’s Always A Woman To Me” by Billy Joel, and Sam Quek and Nikita Kuzmin showcasing a Quickstep to “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield.
Other performances to watch out for are Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec’s Tango to “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence + The Machine, Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell’s Waltz to “You’ll Never Walk Alone” by Gerry and the Pacemakers, and Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas performing a Pasodoble to “Malagueña” by Ernesto Lecuona.
The show promises more entertainment with JB Gill and Amy Dowden delivering a Jive to “Hey Ya!” by Outkast, Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu performing an American Smooth to “Get Here” by Sam Smith, and Wynne Evans and Katya Jones waltzing to “Mr Blue Sky” by Electric Light Orchestra.
Strictly Come Dancing will air on BBC One this Saturday at 6.25pm, keeping fans eagerly awaiting another spectacular evening of performances and competition.
