Honda Issues Second Major Recall in October for Faulty Fuel Pumps
Honda has initiated a second major recall in October, this time affecting more than 700,000 vehicles due to potential cracks in the high-pressure fuel pump leading to fuel leaks. The company has expressed concern over the safety hazard posed by the leaking fuel, as it could significantly increase the risk of fire incidents.
This recent recall comes closely following another significant callback earlier this month when Honda identified steering issues in approximately 1.7 million vehicles. The models affected by the faulty fuel pump recall include the Accord and Accord Hybrid from 2023-2024, the Civic and Civic Hybrid from 2025, and the CR-V Hybrid from 2023-2025.
Despite recalling the vehicles, Honda has stated that from February 2023 to September 2024, they have only received 145 warranty claims related to the issue, with no reported injuries or fatalities. To address the problem, the automaker has assured that dealers will conduct inspections and replace the high-pressure fuel pumps at no cost to the owners.
