A Scottish man tragically passed away after encountering difficulties while diving off the coast of Majorca. The 49-year-old, believed to be from Scotland, faced challenges around 11 am at Cala d’Or, a popular resort area on the southeast coast of the holiday island. He was accompanied by four dive companions, who are presumed to be his friends. The group helped him out of the water and tried to resuscitate him before professional medical responders took over upon reaching dry land. Despite their efforts, he could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Civil Guard has initiated a standard investigation into the incident, although they were unavailable for immediate comment. It is yet unclear whether the Scottish man was visiting Majorca on holiday or had relocated to Spain and was a resident on the Balearic island.
Earlier this month, a 75-year-old British man was found deceased following a diving outing near the Malgrats Islands, situated across the Bay of Santa Ponsa, near the popular resort of Magaluf. His body, clad in just a mask and swim shorts, was discovered by a Civil Protection boat around 4 pm on October 1. The man had been reported missing by a friend prior to the distressing discovery.
