During a recent live performance at the LDLC Arena in Paris, France, on September 28, Joe Jonas was captured on video singing a modified lyric: “Walk for me, baby / I’ll be watching you be Naomi.” The original line in the song was: “Walk for me, baby / I’ll be Diddy, you’ll be Naomi,” which alluded to rumours of Combs’ past relationship with supermodel Naomi Campbell.
This move by Joe Jonas comes amidst a wave of artists distancing themselves from references to Sean “Diddy” Combs as he grapples with legal troubles. Earlier this year, Kesha announced plans to re-record her debut single “Tik Tok,” changing the lyrics that mention feeling like “P Diddy” in the morning.
In an attempt to secure his release on bail, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team recently submitted a notice of appeal to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. The appeal included promises from Combs to abide by specific conditions if granted bail, such as banning women from his home, undergoing weekly drug tests, and avoiding contact with potential witnesses or co-conspirators.
Combs has been embroiled in a series of civil lawsuits and criminal charges over the past year, including allegations of sexual abuse, rape, and misconduct.
