Personal trainer’s expansion plan will help Kincaidston kids stay fit and healthy

Personal trainer Jamie Sanderson, from Jump Start Personal Training, has revealed plans to expand his business to support the fitness and wellbeing of children in the Kincaidston area of Ayr. Sanderson noted a “growing demand” for children’s fitness and health initiatives in the local community, prompting his decision to expand his services. He aims to address this demand by transforming a former carpet showroom on Weir Road into a new gym facility.

Sanderson has submitted a planning application to South Ayrshire Council seeking approval for the change of use of the building. He emphasised that the proposed changes are primarily focused on modernising the interior of the existing structure without any major structural alterations. Currently operating a small personal training studio nearby, Sanderson assured that the expansion project would not cause significant noise disruptions, as efforts will be made to minimize any disturbances with top-quality equipment.

The personal trainer expressed his commitment to supporting the wider community and promoting health and wellbeing. Sanderson highlighted the positive impact of their support to Kincaidston Community Centre, including facilitating weekly sessions for young people to enhance emotional wellbeing, promote inclusion, and reduce isolation. By having a larger space, Sanderson believes they can provide more equipment and resources to ensure children in the community benefit optimally from fitness sessions at Kincaidston.

The proposed operating hours for the new gym facility would be from 7 am for the first session to 8 pm for the last session. The planning application is currently pending consideration by South Ayrshire Council, with a decision expected in November. Sanderson’s vision for the expansion reflects his dedication to meeting the evolving needs of the community and supporting the health and wellbeing of Kincaidston residents, particularly children.

This initiative showcases Sanderson’s commitment to fostering a healthy and active lifestyle among young people and underscores the importance of accessible fitness facilities in promoting community wellness. Supporters of the expansion project are optimistic about the positive impact it could have on children’s health and overall wellbeing in Kincaidston. Sanderson’s efforts align with the increasing recognition of the significance of physical fitness and mental health support for children, highlighting the potential benefits of such initiatives in local communities.
