Ridley, who was delayed in arriving in Japan for the Asia-Pacific Amateur, announced a joint $5 million donation by Augusta National and the Community Foundation for the Central Savannah River Area to support essential services in the greater Augusta region.
The aftermath of Hurricane Helene has led to over 180 fatalities and resulted in extensive destruction across Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Virginia. Ridley acknowledged that Augusta National had also been impacted by the storm, with the golf course suffering damage like many other parts of the community. Despite the challenges, Ridley highlighted the dedication of club employees in not only working towards reopening but also supporting the wider community recovery efforts.
While the Masters is scheduled for April 10-13, the timeline for restoration remains uncertain.
