Elon Musk’s Political Donations to Trump-Aligned Groups Revealed

The report details how Musk has allegedly funneled tens of millions of dollars to groups associated with former Trump adviser Stephen Miller and Republican politician Ron DeSantis.
Starting in 2022, Musk is said to have donated an estimated $60 million to these GOP-aligned groups through a Musk-affiliated limited-liability company. The donations were directed to “dark money” 501(c)(4) political organisations, which are not required to disclose their donors and can accept unlimited contributions from individuals and corporations.
One notable recipient of Musk’s contributions was a group called Citizens for Sanity, which reportedly received $50 million from the billionaire for an advertisement campaign targeting Democrats in battleground states. The group, which was established in Delaware in June of the same year, had several employees from Miller’s America First Legal organisation in key positions.
Miller, known for his hardline stance on immigration policies during the Trump administration, has been associated with Musk’s donations. The billionaire has also been vocal about his views on immigration, frequently expressing his opinions on social media and engaging in public disagreements, including with his daughter, who is transgender.
In addition to supporting Miller’s group, Musk reportedly channeled another $10 million towards various organisations in support of DeSantis, the Florida governor and potential 2024 presidential candidate. The donation to DeSantis came after a fundraising meeting in 2023 and aligns with Musk’s public support for the governor, whom he hosted at an event on X to launch his presidential campaign.
Despite previously suggesting it was time for Trump to step aside, Musk has since emerged as a strong supporter of the former president, founding America PAC to back Trump’s 2024 election bid. Trump, in turn, has praised Musk and even indicated that he would consider appointing him to lead a government task force aimed at reducing expenditure.
