The Enchanted Forest has made a magical return to Pitlochry, enchanting visitors with its vibrant display of lights and music for another year. Set in the stunning surroundings of Faskally Wood, this year’s show promises to be a celebration of the natural world and the harmonies found within the forest. The event, running until November 3, invites guests to immerse themselves in a symphony of lights, music, and the serene beauty of the woodland, showcasing the interconnectedness and unity of nature.
The highlight of this year’s show is the creative interpretation featuring Beira, the Goddess of Winter from the previous year, who acts as a gentle conductor orchestrating the forest’s melody. Visitors are taken on a breathtaking journey through the ancient wood, surrounded by dazzling displays of light, soothing soundscapes, and dancing fountains that transform the forest into a tranquil sanctuary of harmony.
Innovative installations push the boundaries of outdoor displays, including a spectacular light show over Loch Dunmore that combines music, animation, projection, and lasers to create a visual and audible celebration of unity. One of the highlights is the interactive sonic sculpture, In Bloom, which allows visitors to create their own unique tunes by interacting with different parts of the artwork.
Pitlochry, known as the “second summer,” is gearing up for an influx of 85,000 visitors from all corners of Scotland and beyond. The event not only provides a mesmerising experience for guests but also contributes significantly to the local economy, with an independent assessment estimating a £10.38 million boost to the Highland Perthshire region.
Having recently won the Regional Scottish Thistle Award for Celebrating Thriving Communities, the Enchanted Forest is set to compete for the national title in November.
