**Former Ayr Bar Could Transform into a Convenience Store**
A planning application has been submitted to South Ayrshire Council proposing a change of use for the former Horseshoe Bar in Ayr’s George Street. The application aims to repurpose the old watering hole into a new convenience store. The project also includes plans for alterations to the frontage of the building. The proposals are being put forward by Falkirk-based Helix Architecture Studio Ltd, with Tajinder Pal Singh listed as the applicant.
The pub’s previous owners faced legal issues in 2017 when they were fined £10,000 for showing Sky Sports channels without a proper licence. Following this incident, the pub ceased operations and was put up for sale earlier this year at a guide price of £76,000.
The planning application is currently under review by South Ayrshire Council and is marked as ‘pending consideration’ on the council’s online planning portal. A decision on the proposed change of use is expected to be reached by November.
