Police officers have seized Class A drugs worth an estimated £350,000 on the M73 motorway in Lanarkshire. The incident took place yesterday morning, when officers stopped a car on the M73 northbound carriageway near Gartcosh. Following a search of the vehicle, the substantial drug haul was uncovered.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the seizure and is set to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court. Detective Sergeant Graeme Stoddart emphasised the significance of such operations in combating criminal activities that pose a threat to public safety. He reiterated the commitment of law enforcement to tackling serious organised crime and working collaboratively with partner agencies to enhance community safety.
