Thieves have made off with £25,000 worth of bikes following a late-night break-in at an engineering company in Dumfries and Galloway. The incident took place at McPherson Engineering between 9 pm and 10 pm on Tuesday, October 8. According to the police, four motocross bikes and one electric bike were stolen, with a combined value exceeding £25,000.
The stolen motocross bikes include a red 2024 Honda CRF250 R, a white 2023 Huskvarna FC450 Heritage, a black 2024 Surrone Super B, and a red 1988 Honda CR125. Additionally, an electric mountain e-bike, a black 2024 Yamaha Moro 07, was also part of the stolen items. Images of the stolen bikes have been released by Police Scotland in an effort to aid in apprehending the culprits.
Detective Constable Grant Middlemiss has stated that investigations are ongoing and has urged anyone with information or who witnessed suspicious activities to come forward. People who were in the vicinity at the time and may have seen something unusual are encouraged to contact the authorities. Dashcam or private CCTV footage could also be crucial in solving the case.
