South Korea’s city of Incheon has officially expressed interest in hosting a Formula 1 street race, potentially as early as the year 2026. The mayor of Incheon, Yoo Jeong-bok, personally delivered a letter of intent to Formula 1 chief executive Stefano Domenicali during the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka.
Located near the capital city of Seoul, Incheon aims to organise a street race named the F1 Incheon Grand Prix, distinguishing it from the previous Korean Grand Prix that ran from 2010 to 2013 at the Yeongam circuit.
