The highly-anticipated first trailer for “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” has been unveiled, showcasing the return of the notorious villain Feathers McGraw, much to fans’ delight. The upcoming film, produced by Aardman Animations, is set to debut on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this festive season, marking the first feature-length adventure for the beloved duo since 2005’s “The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.”
In this new animated feature, Wallace and his trusty companion Gromit find themselves entangled in a mystery as they become prime suspects in a series of garden thefts in their community. With Wallace vehemently protesting his innocence and Gromit fervently working to solve the case, it becomes evident that their old nemesis Feathers McGraw, last seen causing havoc in “The Wrong Trousers,” is behind the sinister scheme.
The film will see the return of voice actor Ben Whitehead as Wallace, joined by a stellar cast including Peter Kay, Lauren Patel, Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh, and Lenny Henry. Nick Park, the visionary creator behind the iconic characters since their debut in 1989, will co-direct the film alongside Merlin Crossingham, promising an emotional rollercoaster for viewers.
At a recent event, executive producer Carla Shelley teased that the film will tug at audiences’ heartstrings while delivering moments of laughter. Park added that the decision to bring back Feathers McGraw stemmed from the need for a villain with a compelling vendetta, making the mischievous penguin a formidable adversary for the intrepid duo.
While an official premiere date on the BBC is yet to be confirmed, “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” will be available globally on Netflix from 3 January. Fans of the endearing pair can expect a thrilling and heartwarming escapade as they reunite with their favourite inventor and his loyal, silent canine companion for another unforgettable adventure.
