‘Why is that funny?’ Lara Trump snaps when Charlamagne tha God laughs at her claim Donald isn’t racist

Lara Trump, the RNC co-chair and wife of Eric Trump, found herself in a heated exchange with radio host Charlemagne tha God during an appearance on The Breakfast Club show. The discussion took a turn when Charlemagne chuckled at Lara’s assertion that she had never heard her father-in-law, Donald Trump, say anything racist.

During the on-air debate, co-host DJ Envy confronted Lara about allegations of racism against Donald Trump, particularly referencing his treatment of the Central Park Five. Lara staunchly defended Trump, pointing to what she perceived as positive contributions he made to the Black community during his presidency.

As the conversation progressed, Lara confidently claimed, “I’ve never seen this man say a racist thing,” before being interrupted by Charlemagne’s laughter in the background. Surprised by his reaction, she questioned, “Why is that funny Charlemagne?”

Charlemagne then challenged Lara to provide examples of Trump’s alleged racist remarks, prompting the show to play snippets of controversial statements made by the former president, including his comments about Mexican immigrants in 2015.

Despite the mounting evidence presented on the show, Lara continued to stand by her assertion that Donald Trump was well-liked and inclusive. The exchange highlighted the ongoing division in opinions about Trump’s record on race relations.

In a separate interview with Kamala Harris, Charlemagne probed the vice president on her plans to support the Black community, questioning the impact of policies introduced by her running mate, Tim Walz. Harris emphasised her commitment to addressing issues like Black maternal mortality and promoting economic empowerment within the Black community.

The back-to-back interviews with Lara Trump and Kamala Harris showcased contrasting perspectives on race, politics, and policy in America, reflecting the complex dynamics at play in the current social and political landscape.
