A shocking crime has been uncovered in Wisconsin, where a Pizza Hut worker has been imprisoned for the brutal murder of his manager. Kavonn Ingram confessed to shooting and killing his 55-year-old manager, Alexander Stengel, before attempting to conceal the crime by stuffing the body into trash bags and dumping it in a dumpster behind the Milwaukee pizzeria.
Despite Ingram’s claim of self-defense during an altercation at the Pizza Hut, Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Michelle Havas was unconvinced. She labelled the killing as a “cold-blooded execution” of someone who had dedicated 33 years to working at Pizza Hut for meagre wages.
The horrifying incident unfolded after Stengel allegedly flaunted a large sum of cash, part of a $7,000 inheritance, to his colleagues at the restaurant. It is believed that Stengel was murdered just two days later, on February 5. Following the killing, Ingram went to great lengths to cover up the crime scene, even going as far as texting the regional manager from the victim’s phone to explain his absence by feigning illness.
Subsequent investigations revealed disturbing details of the cover-up, with surveillance footage showing Ingram moving the victim’s body from the Pizza Hut to the dumpster and then falsifying time records to mislead authorities. Ingram’s elaborate attempts to conceal the murder were eventually unravelled when a trash collector discovered Stengel’s body on February 7, prompting a police investigation.
Upon further examination of the crime scene, authorities found unsettling traces of blood within the restaurant, including coagulated blood and a bloodied mop. Suspicion fell on Ingram, identified as one of the employees aware of the victim’s recent windfall. The perpetrator was apprehended on February 11 and later pleaded guilty to first-degree reckless homicide in August.
Ahead of Ingram’s sentencing, Stengel’s sister, Pamela Stengel, emotionally addressed the court, expressing the anguish and loss her family has endured due to the tragic loss of Alexander Stengel. The judge ruled a 45-year sentence for Ingram, denying his claims of self-defense and reiterating the gravity of the crime committed.
