Cardi B responds to plastic surgery claims after giving birth to her third baby

Cardi B has addressed speculations regarding plastic surgery following the birth of her third child in September. The 31-year-old rapper celebrated the arrival of her second daughter with Offset on September 7, sharing a heartfelt post on Instagram. Despite giving birth, Cardi B wasted no time getting back to the gym, even posting videos of her 30-minute cardio sessions on the Stairmaster. However, critics on the internet were quick to judge her for exercising so soon after childbirth and accused her of undergoing cosmetic procedures to enhance her physique.

Responding to the rumours on October 5, Cardi B took to social media to set the record straight. She posted side-by-side images to show her body had remained unchanged amid the speculation. The artist, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, emphasised, “Y’all really need to relax… This is how my body REALLY LOOKS LIKE.” She explained that her body appeared different in previous videos due to wearing shapewear. Cardi B questioned the logic of those who believed she had cosmetic surgery shortly after childbirth, with one fan pointing out that surgery is not recommended until at least six months post-delivery according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

This is not the first time Cardi B has defended herself against criticisms following her third child’s birth. Addressing concerns about her workout routine, she explained her postpartum journey and how it differed from previous experiences. The rapper shared that staying active was essential for her mental well-being and combating postpartum depression. Cardi B clarified that her focus was on cardio and not heavy lifting, squats, or muscle straining. She expressed an unusual burst of energy and a desire to achieve all her goals promptly this time around, highlighting her strong work ethic amidst motherhood responsibilities.

As Cardi B navigates motherhood and addresses societal pressures, she remains steadfast in her commitment to remaining true to herself and her well-being post-childbirth.
