Concerns are escalating for a missing woman who was last spotted boarding a train in Edinburgh. Emma Shaw, aged 34, was sighted in the Granton area of the city around 5.30am on Monday. From there, she made her way to Edinburgh Waverley Station and is thought to have travelled to Blackpool. Surveillance indicates she boarded a train departing Edinburgh at about 8.50am, disembarking at Preston at approximately 11.15am before continuing to Blackpool, arriving around 11.50am.
Authorities are requesting information as part of the search for Emma. She is described as white, standing at 5ft6ins, with a heavy build and blonde/ginger hair styled in a short ponytail. Emma was last seen wearing a black jumper with colourful writing on the front, a multicoloured scarf, black trousers, and black shoes. Additionally, she carried a large green rucksack.
Inspector Quentin Russell expressed, “Concerns are growing for Emma’s welfare, and it is important we ensure her safety and well-being. We urge anyone who has seen her or knows her whereabouts to come forward. If Emma sees this appeal, we ask her to contact her family or the police. We all want to ensure her safety.” Information can be provided to officers by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 0716 of Monday, October 7.
