Michael Moore – who correctly called the 2016 election result – says ‘Trump is toast’

Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, who accurately predicted the outcome of the 2016 election when few others did, is now boldly stating that Donald Trump’s chances of winning a comeback victory in 2024 are no more. In a recent Substack essay, Moore declared, “The vast majority of the country, the ordinary people, have had enough and want the circus act to vanish into the MAGA vortex somewhere between reality and Orlando.” He further added, “The swift and explosive momentum for Kamala Harris is unlike anything that’s been seen in decades.”

Known for his liberal stance and renowned films like Fahrenheit 9/11 and Fahrenheit 11/9, Moore forecasted that Harris would secure a win in the Electoral College by a slim margin of 270 to 268. This projection envisages Harris claiming victory in several crucial battleground states such as Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire.

However, amidst his optimistic outlook, Moore cautioned against prematurely celebrating a Trump defeat. He acknowledged Trump’s track record of pulling off surprising wins, prompting him to advise, “It is never wise to do a victory dance on the two-yard line when Trump is your opponent.”

Although Harris currently holds a projected lead of approximately three percent over Trump according to The Independent’s poll tracker, many election forecasters are hesitant to make precise Electoral College predictions due to the presence of various toss-up states. Despite Harris either leading or having a tie with Trump in major battleground states, the latter still maintains higher polling figures in key areas like the economy and immigration.

To solidify the forecasted advantage, Moore suggested that the Harris campaign should focus on mobilizing the millions of Americans who abstained from voting in the previous election. He emphasised, “The nonvoters are the second largest political ‘party’ in the U.S.! All we need is just a few thousand of them to show up — just this once — to make a difference.”

As the 2024 election unfolds, the dynamics continue to shift, with Harris and Trump engaging in a tightly contested race. With Moore’s prediction and analysis adding fuel to the already heated political atmosphere, only time will reveal the ultimate outcome of this high-stakes political battle.
