Vice President Kamala Harris recently revealed the type of gun she owns during an interview on the popular show 60 Minutes. Harris shared that she possesses a pistol manufactured by Glock, a renowned Austrian gunmaker known for its polymer-framed, semi-automatic handguns widely used by law enforcement agencies in the United States and across the globe.
During the interview with correspondent Bill Whitaker, Harris confidently stated, “I have a Glock, and I’ve had it for quite some time.” She further explained, “My background is in law enforcement. And so there you go.” When questioned if she had ever used the firearm, Harris confirmed, “Of course I have. At a shooting range. Yes, of course I have.”
This revelation comes weeks after Harris made headlines for expressing her readiness to defend her home against intruders. In a previous interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harris candidly stated, “If someone breaks in my house, they’re getting shot!” Reflecting on that moment, Harris jokingly remarked to Whitaker that she “probably should not have said that,” suggesting her team may need to “clean up” her remarks.
Addressing the public reaction to her statements, Harris acknowledged that she had previously disclosed owning a gun during past political campaigns. She emphasised that her background in law enforcement influenced her decision to purchase the firearm.
This latest insight into Vice President Harris’s personal security measures has sparked conversations online, with many intrigued by her choice of firearm and her candid approach to discussing the topic. Harris continues to make waves in the political sphere as she shares more about her background and beliefs, providing a glimpse into her values and priorities.
