An inquiry will be conducted into the death of notorious head-in-bag killer Alan Cameron, who passed away in Saughton Prison in Edinburgh on November 1, 2022. The 68-year-old was convicted of the murder of his ex-model fiancee, Heather Stacey, concealing her body for over a year, dismembering her, and discarding her body parts in a bin liner back in June 2010. Cameron received a life sentence for his heinous crime.
Cameron’s brutal murder of Heather sparked a significant police investigation after dog walkers discovered her head wrapped in a bin liner along Hawthornvale Path in Edinburgh. Further body parts were found in subsequent days, leading to Cameron’s arrest on January 8, 2009. A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for November 19 at Edinburgh Sheriff Court to delve into the circumstances surrounding Cameron’s death.
The mandatory inquiry into Cameron’s death will ascertain the cause and assess if any preventive measures could have been taken.
