**Fox News Proposes Final Debate Between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump**
Fox News Media has put forward a proposal for a final presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, just days before the upcoming election. The debate is set to take place roughly a week before Election Day, offering both candidates a platform to make their closing arguments.
In a letter addressed to both campaigns, FOX News Media president & Executive Editor Jay Wallace and Vice President of Politics Jessica Loker outlined the plan for the debate. The proposed dates suggested for the debate are October 24 or 27 in the swing state of Pennsylvania. The event would be moderated by Fox’s Brett Baier and Martha MacCallum and is planned to be held without a live audience.
Both campaigns have been approached for their feedback on the debate proposal. This debate could potentially solidify Harris’s projected lead over Trump, or it could serve as a pivotal moment that reshapes the dynamics of the election and provides Trump with an opportunity for resurgence.
While Harris has expressed her readiness for another debate, emphasising the significance of the election, Trump has previously indicated his reluctance for further debates. However, some voices, like former adviser Chris Christie, have suggested that another debate could benefit Trump by allowing him to connect with voters.
The Democratic National Committee has taken a jab at Trump’s hesitance towards more debates by launching billboards in Pennsylvania, labelling him as a “chicken.” The previous debate between Trump and Harris was marked by notable exchanges, including Trump’s claims about having plans without providing specifics and repeating false statements.
Despite debates often being viewed as mere televised events, recent political cycles have shown that they can have a substantial impact on voter sentiment. For instance, Joe Biden’s performance in the 2024 debates played a role in Harris ultimately becoming the Democratic nominee. Additionally, key moments in the vice presidential debate, such as misstatements and evasiveness, have influenced public perception.
As the proposal for another debate looms, the political landscape remains complex and unpredictable. With the potential for pivotal moments and game-changing developments, the final debate between Harris and Trump could prove to be a crucial factor in shaping the outcome of the upcoming election.
