Haas F1 link up with Toyota in new partnership

Haas F1 has unveiled a significant new partnership with Japanese manufacturer Toyota, marking a fresh chapter for the American team in Formula 1. The team, led by Japanese engineer Ayao Komatsu, has announced a collaboration with Toyota that will see the Japanese company become the official technical partner of Haas.

Toyota has a history in Formula 1, having been a chassis constructor from 2002 to 2009. This new partnership signifies a return to the sport for Toyota, as they join forces with Haas to share expertise, knowledge, and resources. Ayao Komatsu, the team principal of Haas, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the mutual benefits that both teams stand to gain from this technical partnership.

Komatsu stated, “I’m hugely excited that MoneyGram Haas F1 Team and Toyota Gazoo Racing have come together to enter into this technical partnership. The ability to tap into the resources and knowledge base available at Toyota Gazoo Racing, while benefiting from their technical and manufacturing processes, will be instrumental in our own development and our clear desire to further increase our competitiveness in Formula 1.” In return, Haas offers Toyota a platform to enhance their engineering capabilities.

Fans can expect to see Toyota branding on the Haas cars at the upcoming United States Grand Prix in Austin. Looking ahead to next season, Haas will feature a new driver pairing with British teenager Ollie Bearman joining Esteban Ocon. This change will see Nico Hulkenberg move to Sauber (Audi), while Kevin Magnussen is set to leave the 20-man grid.

The partnership between Haas F1 and Toyota represents a significant development in the world of Formula 1, with the potential to bring about positive changes for both teams. Ayao Komatsu is scheduled to address the media at a press conference in Fuji, providing further insights into this exciting collaboration.
