Kirkcudbright Junior Choir and Kirkcudbright Academy pupils recently joined forces in a heartwarming concert to raise funds for the RNLI boathouse appeal. The event, held at Harbour Square, showcased performances by the choir, featuring solo acts by Evie, Isis, Inigo, Iona, and Katie, as well as duets by various talented students. The concert was a resounding success, raising an impressive £735.19 for the campaign.
The organisers, Kate Picken and Hannah Gill, along with compere Jack Finlay, a crew member, orchestrated a memorable event. Special thanks were extended to Micah Boland on drums, Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities for providing the sound system and chairs, as well as the students Bruce and Fraser for managing the tech, and Rob Asbridge for assistance with the staging area. Kate and Hannah initiated the Kirkcudbright Junior Choir in February 2022, welcoming members from several local primary schools. The choir rehearses at The Johnston in Kirkcudbright weekly on Thursday afternoons.
Kirkcudbright RNLI expressed delight at the enthusiastic participation of the young performers, hinting at potential future crew members among them.
