Gauff notched her 50th win of the year in WTA matches by defeating Magda Linette 6-0, 6-4, while Sabalenka emerged victorious against Magdalena Frech with a scoreline of 6-2, 6-2. Meanwhile, Gauff displayed dominance in her quarter-final match, saving four break points and winning 67% of her return points against Linette. Despite facing some resistance in the second set, Gauff managed to secure a break and close out the match, extending her winning streak to nine matches.
In another quarter-final match, third seed Jasmine Paolini of Italy will take on fifth seed Zheng Qinwen from China, with the winner set to face China’s Wang Xinyu in the next round. Wang Xinyu advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova in a hard-fought match.
