The countdown is on for the Awards in Stirling as they search for the city’s favourite shops and businesses. The annual event hosted by Go Forth Stirling BID has already received over 1,400 nominations across 11 categories. These awards aim to recognise and celebrate the exceptional local retailers and businesses in Stirling. The nominations are open to the public, and the deadline for submissions is Friday, October 25.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday, March 6, at the Albert Halls in Stirling. The categories include retail, hospitality, hair & beauty, tourism, and professional services sectors. So far, Stirling’s restaurants, bars, shops, cafes, and service-led businesses have received 1,495 nominations. The Community Engagement Manager at Go Forth Stirling, Jitka Fleglova, expressed delight at the high level of engagement in the award selection process.
The public has until October 25 to nominate their favourite independent establishments in Stirling. Once the nominations close, a longlist of deserving businesses will be created, followed by a voting round to select finalists in each category. The award categories range from Café/Coffee Shop of The Year, Hair & Beauty Business of the Year, to New Business of The Year and Outstanding Contribution to Stirling.
Additionally, there are awards for Charity of the Year, Restaurant of the Year, Pub/Bar/Club of the Year, Service-led Business of the Year, Visitor Attraction of the Year, and Business Support Service of the Year. To be eligible for nomination, businesses must be independent and located within the city centre BID zone. Voting for the shortlisted finalists will take place before Christmas, with the winners announced in January 2025.
Go Forth Stirling is also seeking sponsors for the awards, including an overall main sponsor and sponsors for each award category.
