A new Wallace and Gromit film has been announced, promising to bring out the emotions in viewers and possibly make them cry. The upcoming film, titled “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl,” will feature the beloved claymation characters facing off against their old adversary, the villainous penguin Feathers McGraw, known from the 1993 film “The Wrong Trousers.”
Scheduled for release at Christmas, this film will mark the first feature-length adventure for the iconic duo since “The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” in 2005. During Deadline’s Contenders London event, executive producer Carla Shelley hinted at the film’s poignant nature, stating, “I think we’re going to make everybody cry. We’re going to surprise everybody and make you laugh as well. It’s really emotional. That’s what’s at the heart of it.”
Co-directors Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham shared that they have completed post-production on the film. The storyline follows Wallace as he invents a high-tech garden gnome named Norbot, causing mayhem in their hometown of Wigan. Park highlighted the character of Wallace, emphasizing how his tech innovations sometimes interfere with relationships, reflecting modern society’s obsession with technology.
Moreover, the return of Feathers McGraw has intrigued fans, with Park explaining, “The idea of McGraw coming back in was a slightly later breaking idea.” McGraw’s sinister motives for revenge after spending years in jail add a new level of intensity and intrigue to the storyline. In “The Wrong Trousers,” the cunning penguin used Wallace’s technology to pull off a daring heist, creating one of the franchise’s most memorable moments.
“Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” is set for release on 25 December 2024, promising fans a mix of emotions, laughter, and nostalgia as they witness the duo face another thrilling adventure together.
