A seven-year-old boy has been seriously injured and left with life-changing injuries after being hit by a bus in Manchester. The incident occurred in north Manchester on Saturday evening, prompting an investigation by Greater Manchester Police (GMP).
The bus was travelling on Moston Lane East when it collided with the pedestrian at 6:20 pm. The young boy sustained severe injuries that are described as life-changing but not life-threatening. He remained in the hospital on Sunday following the accident, with no injuries reported by anyone on the bus.
Danny Vaughan, the chief network officer at Transport for Greater Manchester, expressed concern for the child and wished him a speedy recovery. Vaughan stated, “Our thoughts are with the young boy involved, and we wish him a speedy recovery. We are working closely with the bus operator and supporting police with their inquiries.”
In a statement, GMP provided details of the incident, urging any witnesses who have not yet come forward to contact them. They are seeking any dashcam or CCTV footage that may assist in their investigation.
