Seoul reported on Monday that North Korea is making preparations to demolish the northern sections of inter-Korean roads that are no longer in use. According to South Korea, they have detected indications that North Korea is gearing up to destroy these road sections amidst escalating tensions between the two nations. This development follows North Korea’s allegations that South Korea deployed drones to distribute propaganda leaflets over Pyongyang multiple times this month. In response, North Korea threatened to retaliate forcefully if such actions were repeated. The North’s Defense Ministry issued a statement on Sunday, revealing that military units near the border with South Korea have been instructed to be on high alert and prepared to open fire.
