SNL Stars Take on Manchester Accents in Oasis Reunion Spoof

Saturday Night Live (SNL) stars tackled Manchester accents in a sketch that parodied the Oasis reunion. The episode on 12 October featured James Austin Johnson and Sarah Sherman portraying Liam and Noel Gallagher on the Weekend Update segment.

In the comedic skit, the Britpop brothers reassured host Colin Jost that the band would not break up again before their 2025 reunion tour. However, the attempt at the Manchester accents by the comedians led British viewers to draw comparisons to Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

Liam sarcastically questioned, “Are they meant to be comedians?” as the authenticity of their accents was called into question by the Oasis frontman himself.

The sketch highlighted the humorous side of the iconic band and their unique personalities, adding a lighthearted touch to the SNL episode.

This parody of the Oasis reunion by SNL stars showcases the enduring appeal of the band and the entertainment industry’s ability to bring laughter and joy to audiences worldwide.
