The speaker, Kat Jones, is known for her passion for exploring adventure in local and familiar landscapes. She will share her experiences of circumnavigating the 11 green belts around Greater Glasgow, embarking on a remarkable 300km peri-urban journey to uncover wildlife havens amidst landfills, quarries, and golf courses, navigating through a terrain interlaced with dual carriageways, motorways, and railways.
Set to take place at 7.30pm in the Gilchrist Room on Bankend Road’s Crichton estate, Kat Jones will regale her tales of discovery and insights, emphasising the value of Scotland’s access legislation, which empowers individuals to explore the Scottish countryside right at their doorstep. Jones expressed her anticipation for the event, highlighting how even the most familiar places hold a wealth of adventure waiting to be explored. Her love for maps and the freedom granted by Scotland’s access rights have paved the way for a unique exploration that she is eager to share with the audience.
