The Ashes 2025-26 series schedule has been unveiled, revealing the dates and venues for the upcoming matches, with a new venue confirmed for Perth. This announcement marks a significant change as Perth will host the opening Test match of an Ashes series for the first time next year, with the 2025-26 series opener set to take place at Optus Stadium starting from November 21.
Following the Test in Perth, the series will continue with a day-night Test in Brisbane from December 4, the traditional Christmas Test at Adelaide Oval on December 17, the iconic Boxing Day Test in Melbourne on December 26, and the New Year’s Test in Sydney on January 4. This marks a departure from the usual scheduling, with South Australia now hosting the day-night Test in a primetime holiday slot, and Brisbane missing out on hosting the opening Test for the first time in four decades.
Cricket Australia’s executive general manager, Joel Morrison, expressed the organisation’s excitement for the upcoming series, stating, “There is already enormous excitement in the lead-up to the series. We are pleased to announce the dates for the five Men’s Tests to enable fans across the world to lock in their travel plans.” Morrison highlighted the historic and electrifying rivalry of the Ashes, emphasizing the importance of extending the series over two summers, starting with the CommBank Women’s Ashes this summer and culminating in the Men’s Ashes next summer.
The early release of the dates is intended to allow fans, both local and international, to plan their trips to witness the fierce competition between England and Australia. The Ashes remains one of the most iconic sporting events in the world, drawing in cricket enthusiasts from around the globe.
