St Andrew’s Hospice has declared its first-ever ‘St Andrew’s in the City’ ladies’ event a “resounding success”. The event took place at the iconic Voco Grand Central in Glasgow and was generously sponsored by The Ellen Kane Trust. The attendees managed to raise an incredible £34,563 to support patient care at the Airdrie hospice.
The event was hosted by Coatbridge performer Edward Reid and featured a special performance by Airdrie musician Nathan Evans. The guests were treated to surprises as well, with sea-shanty singer Nathan welcoming Lanarkshire band Saint Phnx on stage. Additional performances from Crookysax and Esosa Max-Who added to the vibrant atmosphere of the afternoon, creating unforgettable moments for all in attendance.
Guests were not only entertained but were also reminded of the hospice’s crucial work through an emotional speech by guest speaker Nicola Valbonesi. Nicola shared the moving story of her twin sister Kerry, who received compassionate care at the hospice before passing away at the young age of 35.
Louise O’Donnell, deputy head of fundraising at St Andrew’s Hospice, expressed gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to the event’s success. She thanked Nathan and Saint Phnx for their support and generosity in helping the hospice. Guests left the event uplifted and satisfied with the experience, knowing that their contributions would support local individuals in need of hospice care.
The hospice’s fundraising efforts received overwhelming support, showcasing the community’s commitment to making a difference in the lives of those requiring end-of-life care.
