Melania Trump has introduced a ‘collector’s edition’ of her memoir priced at $250. This special version includes exclusive photographs, with a significant markup of $210 from the regular editions. The extra cost ensures buyers receive a signed copy by the former First Lady, a ‘digital collectible’, and a selection of pictures, including one of Melania and Donald Trump on their first date, along with others capturing moments during Trump’s term in office.
This new edition marks the third release of Melania’s debut memoir, which only hit the shelves earlier this month. The initial 182-page book already contains 31 pages of inserted photos in the middle of a chapter. These additional photographs feature moments like Melania and Trump’s first “date night,” as mentioned by the former First Lady in an interview with Fox News Digital. Melania shared a personal photo of Marine One landing on the front lawn and another depicting a bouquet of flowers in the West Wing.
In addition to the exclusive photos, the collector’s edition boasts premium features such as printing on high-quality art paper, a custom white binding, and embellishments like black foil blocking and a ribbon marker. The cover of this edition is distinctively white, deviating from the original version’s black matte appearance.
Melania has also included a “digital collectible” for buyers, a virtual item that is either unique or limited edition. The former First Lady has previously engaged in the sale of digital collectible artistic renderings of herself. While Melania maintains a relatively low public profile and rarely appears alongside her husband, she has utilized her name and brand to market various products from Christmas ornaments to jewellery and digital collectibles.
Despite the memoir offering limited personal insights into Melania’s life and marriage to Trump, readers have learned about her initial encounter with Trump in New York City, her deep affection for her son, Barron, and her support for abortion rights. Melania expressed that the process of writing the memoir was an emotional journey filled with highs and lows, as revealed in an interview with Fox News Digital.
However, critical reviews of the memoir have been less favourable. The New York Times likened Melania’s memoir to a “souvenir tea towel,” while Vanity Fair described it as “truly bad” and The Telegraph labelled it as “deeply weird”. These critiques contrast with Melania’s sentiments about her writing experience, indicating diverging opinions on her debut literary work.
