Gypsy Rose Blanchard thinks it’s ‘heartbreaking’ her mother will never meet her baby

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who gained notoriety for her involvement in her mother’s murder, expressed deep sorrow over the fact that her late mother would never have the opportunity to meet her baby daughter. In a candid interview with Nick Viall on his podcast, The Viall Files, the 33-year-old, who served eight years in prison, revealed her poignant feelings about this missed connection.

Blanchard, who is set to become a parent soon, admitted that the thought of her mother not being able to experience grandmotherhood fills her with sadness. She acknowledged the heartbreak of imagining what could have been, but she has tried to keep such thoughts at bay as she knows there is nothing she can do to change the situation. Despite critics questioning how she plans to address her mother’s absence with her child, Blanchard emphasised that her stepmother, Kristy Blanchard, would play the role of a grandmother to her daughter.

The conversation delved into Blanchard’s impending motherhood and the judgements she faced from social media users since announcing her pregnancy. Despite the scrutiny, she believes that her past trauma will not impede her ability to parent effectively. Blanchard expressed confidence in her support system, including women like Kristy and her boyfriend’s mother, as positive influences in her life.

Blanchard’s boyfriend, Ken Urker, shared that he relocated to Louisiana to be with Blanchard upon learning of her pregnancy. However, due to restrictions related to Blanchard’s parole, they are unable to live together until after she gives birth. Blanchard outlined that to live together before her parole ends in June 2025, they would need to marry, but she highlighted her reservations about rushing into marriage while still legally tied to her ex-husband.

Released from prison in December 2023, Blanchard had pleaded guilty to the murder of her mother, who had a history of abusing her and suffering from Munchausen syndrome by proxy. This case brought to light the serious psychological trauma Blanchard endured under her mother’s care. Despite her turbulent past, Blanchard is setting her sights on motherhood with a strong support system by her side.

The story of Gypsy Rose Blanchard serves as a reminder of the complexities of familial relationships and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
