The New York State Police responded to the scene in Clinton, New York, following a distress call around 10:40 p.m. A man outside the home informed the authorities that two children and their mother were trapped inside. Firefighters discovered Shannon, Maggie, and her three-year-old son in the house. Despite efforts to save them, Shannon and Maggie succumbed to the fire.
