The partnership between ScotRail, the council, SPT, and Transport Scotland led to a significant redevelopment of Motherwell rail station, resulting in the establishment of a town centre transport interchange. Moreover, the East Airdrie Link Road project is set to create a strategic connection between the M8 and south Cumbernauld, providing access to the new Monklands Hospital at Wester Moffat.
