Volvo has finally unveiled its much-anticipated all-electric seven-seater SUV, the EX90. Despite being late to the game, Volvo’s new range-topping model impresses with its practicality, high build quality, and cutting-edge technology. The SUV boasts an array of impressive tech features, with core computers powered by Nvidia and collaboration with other top tech partners. However, some key tech functionalities, such as the lidar safety system, will not be accessible at the launch stage.
For prospective buyers willing to overlook initial tech limitations, the Volvo EX90 offers a comfortable and spacious seven-seater SUV experience. While the third-row seats may provide slightly less headroom than the XC90, the interior exudes style and quality. The car’s performance impresses with a 0-62mph acceleration in as fast as 4.9 seconds for the higher-powered version. The EX90 boasts fast charging capabilities, with a 250kW charger able to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes.
The interior of the Volvo EX90 is designed to blend simplicity with sophistication, using high-quality sustainable materials and boasting an expansive panoramic sunroof for a bright and airy feel. Innovative features include a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system with Dolby Atmos surround sound, controlled via a 14.5-inch touchscreen that also handles navigation and other vehicle settings.
As one of the few electric SUVs with seven seats, the Volvo EX90 stands out for its practicality and luxury features. While the initial models come at a premium price and may not offer the full range of functionalities at launch, future iterations are expected to introduce more affordable options with enhanced technology.
