Robert Kraft, the billionaire owner of the New England Patriots NFL team, recently shared his candid thoughts about former President Donald Trump. In an interview on Charlamagne tha God’s iHeartRadio show The Breakfast Club, Kraft compared Trump’s presidency to “having a drunk fraternity brother” as commander-in-chief.
Kraft, a lifelong Democrat, recounted how he developed a social friendship with Trump in Florida back in the early 1990s. He mentioned that when his wife passed away 13 years ago, Trump was among the few people who reached out to him in a kind and supportive manner. Despite his political differences, Kraft even made a significant donation to Trump’s inauguration after he was elected.
Initially optimistic about Trump’s potential impact on the economy, Kraft’s opinion soured as he witnessed the chaos and controversies that unfolded during Trump’s time in office from 2017 to 2021. He described the experience as akin to having an unqualified individual lead the country.

During the interview, Kraft also spoke about his anti-racism initiative, Timeout Against Hate, which aims to combat discrimination and promote unity. He referenced the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville in 2017 as a pivotal moment that inspired him to take a stand against hate and division.
Reflecting on the current state of affairs, Kraft highlighted the importance of empathy and unity, citing historical parallels to Nazi Germany and underscoring his commitment to ensuring America does not repeat past atrocities.
