An art gallery in East Kilbride is gearing up to host two exclusive whisky tasting events that combine the worlds of fine art and Scotland’s rich whisky heritage. The Picture Framing Gallery will be the venue for these unique events, set to take place on Tuesday, October 29, and Thursday, November 28. Renowned whisky expert Jim Irvine will lead the curated whisky experience, celebrating the artistry of Scottish colourist Daniel Campbell and the iconic malt whisky tradition of Scotland.
Daniel Campbell’s latest body of work, focusing on Islay’s landscapes and distilleries, will be showcased during the events. Guests will be treated to a whisky tasting experience that immerses them in the spirit of Islay through a selection of nine of the region’s finest whiskies. Distilleries such as Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, and Laphroaig will be among those featured, offering attendees a chance to savor the flavours of classic Islay malt whisky.
Robert Clark, owner of The Picture Framing Gallery, expressed his excitement about hosting these events, emphasizing the fusion of Scotland’s whisky tradition with the vibrant artistry of the gallery. The evening will not only feature whisky tastings but also a private viewing of ten original oil paintings by Daniel Campbell, capturing the essence of Islay’s landscapes and distilleries.
As guests arrive, they will be greeted with whisky cocktails prepared by Grant Beattie, known as “The Cocktail Guy,” setting the tone for an evening of art and whisky appreciation. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase a variety of fine art pieces inspired by Islay’s whisky heritage, including prints, limited edition prints, canvas reproductions, and handcrafted whisky cask frames.
