Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo out for ‘a few weeks’ with injury

Manchester United’s midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is set to be sidelined for “a few weeks” due to a muscle injury, the club confirmed. The England international sustained the injury during United’s recent 0-0 draw with Aston Villa before the international break, forcing him to miss subsequent matches. Alongside Mainoo, defender Harry Maguire also picked up an injury in the same game and is expected to be out for a similar period.

Meanwhile, there was some positive news for United as Noussair Mazraoui returned to training on Thursday following a recent medical procedure for heart palpitations. The Moroccan international underwent a minor corrective procedure as a precaution for a common condition last week. Although Mazraoui has resumed training at United’s Carrington training ground, it remains uncertain whether he will be fit in time for the upcoming Premier League match against Brentford on Saturday.

Additionally, Alejandro Garnacho, who had been sidelined with a knee issue, and Amad Diallo, who was recovering from an illness, have also returned to training after missing recent games for their respective national teams (Argentina and Ivory Coast). Both players are expected to be available for selection against Brentford.

The injury setbacks for Mainoo and Maguire come at a challenging time for Manchester United, as they aim to maintain momentum in the Premier League. With key players working towards recovery and others returning to full fitness, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be assessing his options ahead of the upcoming fixtures. Stay tuned for updates on the players’ progress and potential returns to the starting lineup.
