A survey revealed that one in three young males hold a positive view of Tate, a figure significantly higher than one in ten children who have reportedly accessed pornography by the age of nine.
Tate, known for promoting toxic masculinity, faces serious allegations including human trafficking, rape, and exploitation of women. Despite these charges, he maintains a substantial online following and frequently espouses extreme views about women.
The newly introduced toolkit will educate pupils on healthy and respectful relationships as part of a broader strategy to address violence against women and girls. The programme, costing £1 million and developed by educational experts Tender, incorporates workshops, drama exercises, and interactive sessions to familiarise children aged 9 to 11 with identifying harmful behaviours.
In correspondence to all primary schools in London, Mayor Khan emphasised the importance of instilling values of equality and respect among students, particularly in light of the prevalent misogynistic content online. The aim is to empower young Londoners to challenge sexism and misogyny and foster a culture of mutual respect.
The toolkit will be integrated into classroom instruction by primary school teachers and supported by trained workshop leaders.
