Tom Holland, known for his role as Spider-Man, has celebrated two years of sobriety by launching his own line of non-alcoholic beer. The 28-year-old actor revealed that he wanted to create a beverage that resonated with his lifestyle and principles.
The newly introduced Bero brand features three variations: Kingston Golden Pils, Edge Hill Hazy IPA, and Noon Wheat. Each name carries a personal significance to Holland, with references to his UK origins. Kingston Golden Pils is a tribute to his hometown, Edge Hill pays homage to his primary school, and Noon Wheat is named after his dog, Noon.
While currently available for shipment to most US states, Bero is also working towards distribution in the UK. The brand has assured that British consumers can expect to access Bero before the year concludes.
In an interview with Forbes, Tom Holland shared that his first year of sobriety was challenging, implying that having access to non-alcoholic alternatives like Bero would have eased the transition. Holland candidly admitted that he recognized he had a drinking issue, stating, “I knew I’d had a bit of a problem for a while.”
The actor initially engaged in Dry January in 2022, a health initiative encouraging participants to abstain from alcohol throughout January. Despite finding the experience arduous, he extended his sobriety beyond January and eventually decided to completely forgo alcohol.
Reflecting on his journey, Holland spoke of the difficulties he faced but highlighted the positive impact sobriety had on his life. He expressed pride in his achievement, describing it as the most significant accomplishment he has made.
