A Scottish woman recently had an unexpected surprise when she purchased a £2 Too Good To Go bag from Morrisons. Too Good To Go is an app designed to combat food waste by connecting users with restaurants, supermarkets, and cafes who offer mystery bags of surplus items at a discounted price. Aaliyah Anderson, a Scottish TikToker, shared her experience on TikTok, revealing the contents of her Too Good To Go bag.
Initially excited by the size of the bag, Aaliyah’s enthusiasm waned as she began to inspect its contents. The first item she pulled out was a batch of bread rolls, which she deemed acceptable. However, her excitement turned to disappointment as she discovered that subsequent batches of bread rolls were either rock hard or burnt. In total, she received four six-packs of rolls and two additional bags of rolls, some of which were inedible.
Despite acknowledging that some of the rolls were edible, Aaliyah concluded that the overall bag was a disappointment. She expressed her frustration on camera, highlighting the poor quality of the items she received. Aaliyah ultimately stated that she would not be purchasing the Morrisons Too Good To Go bag again.
The incident has raised questions about the value and quality of items offered through the Too Good To Go app. Both Morrisons and Too Good To Go have been contacted for comment on the matter. This story serves as a reminder that while initiatives to combat food waste are commendable, the quality of the items provided should not be compromised in the process.
In light of this experience, consumers may want to exercise caution when purchasing mystery bags through similar apps and platforms. Ensuring that the items received meet expectations in terms of quality and usability can help avoid disappointment and unnecessary food waste in the future.
