Man charged with drugging and sexually assaulting nine women in LA County over two-year spree

A man in California has been charged with drugging and sexually assaulting nine women over a two-year period, with one of the victims tragically dying from the drugs, prosecutors have revealed. Michael DiGiorgio, aged 50, has been hit with 18 felony charges, including murder, forcible rape, and rape of an unconscious person. If found guilty, he could potentially face life imprisonment.

The assaults are said to have taken place between May 2019 and November 2021 at DiGiorgio’s residences in Redondo and Hermosa Beach. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has stated that there is a possibility of more victims coming forward, indicating the potential extent of the crimes committed by DiGiorgio.

Authorities further allege that DiGiorgio caused serious harm to one of the victims by administering drugs. The identity of the woman who tragically passed away due to the drugs has not been disclosed, with no additional details about her death provided.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón expressed sympathy for the victims, acknowledging the significant impact of the alleged actions on their lives. He affirmed the commitment of his office to ensuring accountability for the pain and suffering caused by DiGiorgio.

DiGiorgio was taken into custody in Redondo Beach and is currently being held without bail, as indicated by Los Angeles County court records. Although scheduled for arraignment in Los Angeles, the hearing has been postponed until November 6. DiGiorgio has not yet entered a plea in this case.
