East Kilbride Camera Club recently showcased their top photography entries in a league competition, as reported by the Daily Record. The competition, which had a theme of ‘Your Best Image’, received an impressive 80 entries from club members. All photographs submitted were taken within the previous seven days.
Judge Dave Ferguson had the task of critiquing and ranking the entries. The winning image, titled “Little Bee Eater”, was captured by Michelle McKenna Stewart and earned her 20 points. The judge praised the image for its clear, crisp, and sharp quality.
In joint second place, four participants – Brian Watson with “Cloch on the Clyde”, Bill Higgins with “Leafhopper”, Iain McGroarty with “Unusual Suspects”, and Robin Miller with “Botanic Staircase” – all scored 19 points each. Meanwhile, participants like John Woodburn, Linda McDougall, Faye McSpurren, and Calum Steen secured joint third place with their captivating entries.
The East Kilbride Camera Club encourages photography enthusiasts to join their sessions held on Mondays and Thursdays at the sports club in Calderglen Country Park. Members enjoy a range of activities including workshops, competitions, themed nights, and more.
Photography lovers looking to explore their passion can join the club’s Monday evening sessions for a cuppa, a biscuit, and engaging discussions. The club also offers tuition evenings on Thursdays for members to enhance their skills.
